This class full day class covers high-efficiency furnace quality installation practices based on ACCA Standard 5, including applying Manuals J, S, and D in the field, system commissioning, and participation requirements for the SoCalGas High-Efficiency Furnace Quality Installation Program. Contractors interested in participating in the SoCalGas program must attend this class along with the completing the following pre-requisites: Nate Certification or equivalent. Manual J, S, D training. Design software training using either Write-soft or Elite design software.
Course Objectives:
Learn how proper heat load calculations and sizing affect system efficiency
Understand how to use diagnostic tools to properly install a furnace to capture system design efficiency (hands-on)
Learn how proper combustion affects system operation and efficiency
Understand state/local codes and standards including industry standards from ANSI, ACCA, ASHRAE and others
Complete pre-requisite training to participate in the SoCalGas High-Efficiency Furnace Quality Installation Program
