The 'Office of the Future' looks wholistically at a set of integrated design features, including new hardware and software controls, and puts it all together to realize the synergistic benefits and deep energy savings that can occur when all building systems work together as intended.

The video presents case studies of two exemplary pilot projects in existing buildings that are yielding measured energy savings of over 50% and 66% respectively:

  • US Federal Building (General Services Administration, Los Angeles)
  • Landmark Square Building (Brookfield Office Properties, Long Beach).

"It's changed the ambiance and it has absolutely turned some heads, as far as our own employees, as to what's possible and what might be coming in the future."
  - Asst. Director in Charge, LA Field Office
    Federal Bureau of Investigation

This short video also takes a look inside the UC Davis Energy Efficiency Center and Southern California Edison's Technology Test Centers. There we see the key role research laboratories such as these are playing to make the 'Office of the Future' a reality.
