  • Zero Net Energy Schools Awards and Recognition

    California is leading in the transformation of K-12 and community colleges to zero net energy (ZNE) performance.  To recognize leading schools, districts and individuals, the first-ever California ZNE school awards and recognition program has been launched.

    ZNE schools are high-performance buildings that combine energy efficiency and renewable resources to produce at least as much energy as they consume annually. To honor early innovation and leadership in this market, the state’s investor-owned utilities (IOUs), the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) and other agencies are launching a ZNE awards and recognition program to showcase the people, buildings and policies that are driving this new standard for school environments.

  • CAHP Lighting Credit Fact Sheet

    The California Advanced Homes Program (CAHP) scoring metric now allows participants to demonstrate improvement over the prescriptive lighting standards. The new high-efficacy lighting credit requires that all permanently installed lighting use high efficacy sources, such as LED or fluorescents, and no low efficacy sources such as incandescent or halogen.
