The statewide California Advanced Homes Program (CAHP) provides design assistance, quality control, and substantial financial incentives to builders that are ready to learn and demonstrate best practices in energy efficiency, green building and sustainability.

Single family and mulitfamily developers qualify for CAHP by demonstrating that they can exceed current Title 24 energy code minimums. CAHP helps builders differentiate their homes from those of the competition, and prepares them to meet the statewide Zero Net Energy requirements that are coming in 2020.

This tutorial will:

  1. Explain how the CAHP program requirements compare to 2013 Title 24
  2. Introduce tools that can help builders design for CAHP and demonstrate compliance, and
  3. Provide examples of what it takes to earn both the program's base incentives as well as the extra bonuses that are available.
